Develop a Clear Picture of Your Perfect Home

Focusing On Priorities Saves Time And Stress

The more specific you can be about what you're looking for in a home, the faster and easier your home purchase will be. Instead of searching endless "possibilities," you and your agent can put all your energies into locating the most perfect home you can afford.

Narrow your search by asking yourself some important questions, ranking your preferences in order of importance:

Financial Priorities
  • How much can you afford to spend on a home? (If you don't know, we can help!)
  • Do you need the seller's help with financing (taking back a second mortgage), or closing costs?
  • Location Priorities
  • What's your neighborhood preference: development, non-development, urban, rural, historic district, other?
  • Do you want a particular type of lot: waterfront, water view, east-facing?
  • How much commuting time is tolerable?
  • Do you need to be near public transportation?
  • Are you looking for a particular school district?
Property Priorities
  • Do you want a new home? Resale? How old is too old?
  • What architectural styles appeal to you: traditional, contemporary, bungalow, Victorian?
  • How much yard do you want? All lawn? Mostly trees?
  • How many and what kind of rooms are essential?
  • What construction materials do you require: brick, siding, copper pipes?
  • List the features your home must have: a porch, deck or patio; hardwood floors; whirlpool tub; gourmet kitchen, fireplace?
  • What type of utilities are you looking for: cable, gas, sewer?
We'd be happy to review your list of priorities and get to work finding the exact home you're looking for. Contact us at your convenience.
